Elizabeth Swann

About Me:       Elizabeth Swann, PhD, ATC, FNAP joined Nova Southeastern University in 2003, from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Currently serving in many roles at the University, most importantly the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for the National Collegiate Association of Athletics (NCAA) Division II.  As a Professor and Director of Interprofessional Integration in the Department of Professional Development and Education at the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences in the Health Professions Division, she collaborates on interprofessional education (IPE) experiences both the students and faculty. In addition, an affiliated faculty in the Department of Medical Education for the Dr. C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine and a founding faculty of the Farquhar Honors College. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice. In this role, essential for many of our professional accreditations, she collaborates with departments across campus to ensure IPE is delivered at the highest level. Prior NSU positions at NSU include the founding Chair of the Health and Human Performance Department and the initial Program Director of both the Athletic Training Education Program (2003) and Exercise and Sports Science major (2006). Originally, from California she received her Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science Degree in Athletic Training from Texas State University in San Marcos. Obtained her Master of Arts in Sport Management from The University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Philosophy in Administration and Teaching at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. As a co-author on the “Interprofessional Education and Practice in Athletic Training” White paper for the Athletic Training Education Journal, her scholarship in this area is ongoing. In 2018, she presented research on the NSU Interprofessional Diabetes Education and Awareness Program in London, England. She is a graduate of Leadership Broward Class XXXIII, which is a premier leadership development program designed who currently hold leadership positions and are involved in their community. She went on to serve as the President 2016-2017 for the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale (JLGFL), an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and to improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, including Human Trafficking Awareness (HTA) campaign. Dr. Swann was appointed in 2016 to the Board of Directors for the State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC) and tacking the Opioid Crisis from a legislative perspective and continues to be a sought-after speaker for Human Trafficking Education and Advocacy. As the current NSU NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), Dr. Swann is excited to serve student athletes, faculty, and community in this capacity. As the FAR I am your advocate and facilitator to help the Institution understand what it takes to balance being a Student and an Athlete. This includes navigating Academic Integrity and Institutional Controls that's grounded in valuing Student-Athlete well-being.

Nardia Aldridge, DTM

About Me: Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Nardia Aldridge joined Club Awesome Toastmasters in September 2016 to overcome her fear of public speaking. Since joining Club Awesome, she has gained the confidence needed to become a full-time Faculty at Nova Southeastern University and a more effective leader in her professional organizations. Since joining, she has since presented at multiple state and national conferences. In September 2018, she presented at her first International Conference in Melbourne, Australia. In August 2022, she presented at the World Federation of Occupational Therapy Congress in Paris, France.

DTM Nardia Aldridge has served in and outside the club in multiple capacities. She has served as Secretary of Club Awesome 2021-2022, Vice President of Education 2020-2021, President 2019-2020, and Vice President of Membership for the 2018-2019 year. DTM Aldridge is the Founder of Shark Tank Toastmasters, chartered on January 29, 2021. She has served as President, Treasurer, and Secretary for the club and Club Mentor. DTM Aldridge is a Club Sponsor for Positively Impacting Lives Toastmasters, chartered in 2021. In addition, she served as the Area 25 Director. She won the Area Director of the Year and Most Outstanding Area Director Awards for 2020-2021. DTM Aldridge earned her Distinguished Toastmasters Status in August of 2021.

DTM Aldridge is an Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department at Nova Southeastern University. She received her Ph.D. in Health Sciences from Walden University and has a B.S. in Occupational Therapy and an M.S. in Gerontology. Dr. Aldridge has also served nine years in the United States Army, where she met and married her husband, Roger Aldridge. They have two children (Alyssa and Andrew). Dr. Aldridge is passionate about increasing diversity in the occupational therapy profession and is the President and founder of the South Florida Black Occupational Therapy Caucus. Stephanie Petrosky

About Me: Stephanie Petrosky has enjoyed a diverse and exciting career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and loves to make nutrition fun. In addition to clinical practice in hospital and outpatient settings, she has held executive operations roles within national healthcare companies and senior living communities. She received her professional training from Florida International University and earned an M.S. in Health Services Administration from Capella University. Stephanie earned an advanced practice doctorate in clinical nutrition from the University of North Florida. With 30 years of teaching experience, she has been active in many leadership roles. She is proud to be a past president of the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and currently serves as the Chair of the Dietetics and Nutrition Practice Council for Florida, which oversees the licensure in Florida. On a personal note, Stephanie enjoys the beach, reading, long walks, learning new things, and mentoring others.

Stephanie has always wanted to join Toastmasters and is happy to be one of the founding members of SharkTank Toastmasters at NSU.
